The tutorials for this course will be delivered face-to-face and online as per your own tutorial timetable. In addition, you can schedule a consultation meeting (online or in person) with the lecturer to review problems and questions you may have with the foundational course material. The material covered in the Advanced Lecture will directly relate to the assessments. There is also a biweekly (that is fortnightly) Advanced Lecture that will be offered face-to-face and livestreamed for those students unable to attend in person (details on Moodle). You can review these pre-recorded foundational course materials posted on Moodle anytime anywhere.

Effort will be made during the teaching to address the diversity in the class and to create an inclusive learning environment.įoundational course knowledge will be delivered online asynchronously as a series of video recordings. It also takes into account the fact that students come from diverse backgrounds and have differing learning styles. ​A variety of learning and teaching strategies are adopted in this course. If you are worried about your personal space being observed during a class, we encourage you to blur your background or make use of a virtual background. Using a webcam is optional, but highly encouraged, as this will facilitate interaction with your peers and instructors. Use of your Webcam and Digital Devices: If you enrol in an online class, or the online stream of a hybrid class, teaching and associated activities will be conducted using Teams, Zoom, or similar a technology. Link with related areas of study and courses that comprise the International Business specialisation and beyond, to encourage interdisciplinary learning and facilitate the acquisition of broadly based knowledge about global issues relevant to International Business. Specifically, topics include managing communication and interactions across cultures, negotiating across cultures, understanding cross cultural ethics and corporate social responsibility, working in global teams, comparative leadership styles, and HR requirements for performance as global managers. It incorporates topics that highlight the impact of culture in the international business environment, explores research relating to the dimensions of culture and considers the implications for management. It offers conceptual frameworks for systematically understanding the notion of culture, cultural synergies and differences, and the convergence and divergence in cultural norms and values. ​The course provides you with an understanding of the contextual knowledge, cross cultural skills and multiple perspectives required to manage and work across borders and cultures in a changing global business environment.
